Avery Fleischman is currently finishing up her last semester in the Medical Illustration Graduate program at Augusta University. She is honing her skills in various illustration media from 2D digital infographics to 3D animations. During her time at AU, she has made an educational infographic for the local Phinizy Center for Water Sciences, observed and illustrated several surgeries, and even made a brochure for the Georgia Cancer Center to inform patients about receiving injections. Every project she creates at school has helped her improve her technique and takes her one step closer toward reaching her goal to become a professional medical illustrator. Passionate about creating visual materials that clarify the complexity of the medical and biological sciences, she pulls from her scientific and artistic backgrounds to design pieces that help to teach people of all education levels and circumstances. Avery earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and minored in studio art at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa.
